3 Big Things Coming to the Space Coast

- Rocket Lab's first U.S. launch facility. As if the Space Coast weren't already a hotbed of activity for space exploration, a newer company called Rocket Lab, specializing in satellite launches, is considering the Space Coast for their first U.S. based launch facility, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Currently launching from New Zealand, Rocket Lab is also considering locations in California, Alaska, and Virginia for its new project.
- A new, state-of-the-art cruise terminal at Cape Canaveral. The cruise ports at Cape Canaveral are some of the busiest in the country, and the Cape is updating their terminals to meet demand. Port Canaveral recently demolished the old Terminal 3 to make room for an upgraded facility, and construction on the new building should be complete by early 2020, according to Space Coast Daily.
- A state-of-the-art aquarium at Cape Canaveral. The Brevard Zoo has proposed the construction of a new educational aquarium near Cape Canaveral in partnership with Indian River Lagoon conservational efforts. While plans for this aquarium aren't yet set in stone, project directors intend to create a globally-known facility and bring plenty of jobs to the area, according to Florida Today.
