Welcome to Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, home to the 45th Space Wing

Patrick Space Force Base is situated between Satellite Beach and Cocoa Beach in Brevard County, Florida.  Patrick SFB also operates and controls Cape Canaveral Space Force Station as well as Eastern Range Operations.  Patrick SFB is located on one of the outermost barrier islands in an area of Brevard County, FL, known as the "Space Coast." The base is located just south of the world famous Cocoa Beach, just north of Satellite Beach, and is between the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Banana River to the west. The base and the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station cover roughly 2300 acres.

Patrick SFB is home to over 900 active duty members, over 1000 reservists, over 100 air guard, more than 7000 contractors and approximately 1000 civilians. The base is equipped with everything you and your family need from the Base Exchange to the Commissary, as well as a state of the art gym, youth center, child care center, and college courses offered by a number of accredited schools. For those service members with school-age children, the school district surrounding the Patrick SFB area is rated A+. The average temperatures range between 80 and 91 degrees from April to September and typically run between 70 and 80 degrees from October to March. July and August are the warmer months while January and February tend to be the coolest.

The 45th Support Squadron at Patrick SFB offers a large number of facilities and programs for leisure activities.  For detailed information visit their website at http://www.gopatrickfl.com. Some of the programs and activities you can read about on the web site include Patrick SFB’s Manatee Cove Marina and Yacht Club and the Manatee Cove Golf course. A great way to meet new people is to visit The Tides Collocated Club, which sits right on the beach across from the base.  The Tides offers beachfront dining and is available for catering birthday parties, weddings, and anniversary celebrations. Phone: 321-494-4012.

The Outdoor Recreation facility provides a number of activities including surf fishing clinics, river fishing clinics, kayaking and scuba classes. One of the unique things you’ll get to experience while stationed at Patrick SFB is watching the many rockets launched from Cape Canaveral.

You and your family will also be fortunate enough to see some amazing wildlife. Dolphins, manatees, and alligators can be seen swimming along the inter-coastal waterways adjacent to Patrick SFB. The beaches of Brevard County are some of the world’s most important nesting beaches for sea turtles. Nature lovers come from all over the world, during sea turtle nesting season, to watch the baby sea turtles as they make their initial mad dash for the water upon hatching.

Greg Ellingson and a core group of other interested Air Force Academy alumni have embarked upon the start of a Space Coast chapter of The United States Air Force Academy Association of Graduates (USAFA AOG).  Greg is dedicated to identifying distinguished alumni who live in Brevard County.   The goal is to ultimately bring together former cadets, graduates, widows of graduates and friends of the Air Force Academy to protect the aims and values of the Academy. The purpose of this chapter is to educate the public and gather support for the graduates who deserve our appreciation. At the home of Greg and Jenny Ellingson it’s game day.  And, not just any game, but the annual Air Force versus Army game!  The house is filled with approximately 80 Air Force Academy and West Point graduates and their families.   The skies are blue, the air is brisk and it’s a perfect day to watch the game.   Tables are lined with snacks and sweets, the coolers are full and the grill is fired up!   It’s going to be a great day with an even greater rivalry.  It’s college game day!  The Air Force grads arrive sporting their Air Force blue and Falcon regalia while the West Point grads are dressed in the Black...
