Holiday 5K's Supporting Charities in Our Community

As the holiday season comes into full swing, it's nice to take a moment to think of those in our community who may be struggling to keep the season bright. There are many great local charities around Brevard County that assist with a number of causes. Many of them host or sponsor 5K races around the region to celebrate the season and raise funds for the causes that mean the most to them.

Are you interested in enjoying Florida's enjoyable winter weather for a good reason? Here are just a few of the events happening in Brevard County:

  • Cape Canaveral Reindeer Run 5K: Costumes are encouraged at this annual event benefiting the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's PAL program intends to create opportunities for children through educational and enriching youth programs. All ages are encouraged to participate, including teams.   • Health First Fight Child Hunger 5K Run/Walk: Health First intends to make this the largest event to fight child hunger in Brevard. This program wants to help children on school assisted meal programs and their families to get the nutrition they need on weekends. This race is on January 12. Click here for more
  • Game On Run for First Responders: This Run/Walk benefits Survive First, an organization that intends to help first responders with mental health care, depression, and substance abuse issues.
